Communication Specialist

ABOUT THE POSITIONThe Communication Specialist will work alongside the Communication team to develop cohesive and engaging messaging.
The content created will foster collaboration and engagement among staff and represent the Credit Union voice and culture to a variety of audiences.
NORMAL DAY-TO-DAY WORK Writes engaging and informative communication across channels such as print, digital, web and video, for internal and external audiences.
Formats include, but are not limited to, headlines, advertising, video scripts, executive talking points, emails, blog posts, articles, and letters.
Works alongside coworkers within the Marketing department to create consistent messaging with appropriate voice and tone, using brand guidelines and Credit Union standards to address corporate communication needs.
Leads and/or participates in formal and informal cross-functional teams in support of corporate projects and strategic initiatives.
Serves as communication liaison with Credit Union leadership and other process owners.
Assists with translation of complex financial, institutional and industry information into clear messaging for Credit Union members, organizational partners, and stakeholders.
Identifies, analyzes, and understands target audiences and their specific communication needs in effort to develop effective messages for those audiences.
Proofreads any copy/material submitted to the Marketing department for Credit Union brand, voice, grammar, and editorial style.
Creates, develops, and implements communication campaigns and monitors their effectiveness.
Leverages analytical reports to determine effectiveness of content and make improvements to strategy and copy as necessary.
Coordinates public appearances of executives on behalf of the Credit Unions.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS Here are a few qualifications you MUST have to be qualified for this position.
4-6 years of copywriting and communication experience.
Excellent copywriting and editorial skills with the ability to judge and correct submitted copy, show strong attention to detail and maintain consistency across all content.
Outstanding verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, and the ability to work independently and meeting deadlines.
Ability to use AP and/or Chicago style guides.
Ability to function in a Consumer business office environment and utilize standard office equipment including but not limited to:
PC, copier, telephone, etc.
Ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs.
(file boxes).
Travel required on occasion.
Here are a few qualifications we'd LIKE for you to have.
Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Marketing, or related field.
Experience in writing financial services related copy or other highly regulated industry requiring detailed compliance review.
Mac/PC proficient including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
