TE Connectivity has a Maintenance Mechanic position available in Fuquay Varina, NC within the Energy business unit (BU). This position is critical in that it provides maintenance/engineering design support to the operations unit at FVNC. The person in this role will perform preventive maintenance as well as design, build and modify operations equipment to meet ever changing needs.
Key tasks/responsibilities of the job:
Diagnoses and repairs machine breakdowns
Rebuild and redesign machines as required
Expert in electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems required to run plant and facility machinery
Troubleshoot mechanical and/or electrical breakdowns of machinery. Replaces parts (ex. motors, drives, components) as required
Complete all work orders, preventive maintenance sheets, and repair logs to reflect work performed
Create and write preventive maintenance procedures as well as operations job aids
Qualifications & Specialist training required:
AAS in Electronics, Electro-Mechanical or Industrial Technology plus 2
years experience in electronics or mechanical field or 5
years experience in manufacturing in hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical repair, motor controls in plant environment
Electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic blueprint reading skills required; experience reading blueprints from non-U.S. manufacturers preferred
PLC Programming experience preferred
Familiarity with National Electrical Code; Electrical Contractors License preferred
Ability to design and reengineer standard equipment to meet specific manufacturing requirements required
Ability to follow safety guidelines while working on machinery or in facilities (ex. Lock out/tag out)
General housekeeping in work areas and working knowledge of 5s +1 required
Must be able to perform preventive maintenance and equipment upgrades as required
Analytical thinking, mathematical and mechanical skills required
Ability to prioritize work in order to successfully accomplish job duties
Familiarity with plastics processing extrusion equipment a plus
